In 2026, Sorghum Will Feature Everywhere
In 2026, under a European promotion program, several events will be organized for the professionals who wish to learn more about sorghum.
The program will include conferences, fairs, forums, webinars, and study trips – in France, Poland, Romania, Hungary and other countries – and it will offer many opportunities to go more in-depth on the crop and its outlets and to exchange one’s experience with colleagues and professionals in other countries.
Calendar of 2026 Events
June: Online – a Webinar on Outlets
Developed for brokers, processors, and traders, the webinar will explore the “1001 reasons to invest in sorghum”. It is available for free. For two hours, it will present testimonials by experienced representatives of companies such as Kite or Bonafarm, to whom sorghum has become one of the main raw materials. The webinar will take place in June. Its agenda and exact date will be available soon.
August: on a Farm, in Romania. An Event about Production Techniques
Around fifty farmers will be expected on a crop farm for a technical day co-organized by FAPPR and FNPSMS. On a field trial plot, the attendees will be able to compare several sorghum hybrids developed by European seed companies, especially based on earliness and weed control. The event will be organized as a guided conference and will include a presentation of the subplots and trials, as well as a technical presentation on the key stages of development of sorghum. Prior to the event, which will take place on August 25th, regular updates will be published regarding the progress of the field works.
August: Outdoor Event in Hungary. An International Agrifood Crossroads
Sorghum will have a dedicated stand during the 35th edition of the Farmer Expo event in Hajdú-Bihar, Hungary, between August 27th and 29th. The stand will be mainly about the agronomy of sorghum and its use in animal feeding.
September: Outdoor Event in France. A Technical Event in the Field, Combining Demos and Conferences
The event, called Innovagri, will take place from the 9th to the 10th of September, in Ondes, south-west of France. The distinctive feature of the fair is to showcase products, varieties, and technical programs in real-life conditions. Farmers, livestock growers, and companies come to the fair to benefit from training, learn new information, and discover the latest innovations. At the FNPSMS stand, sorghum will sit next to corn, indicating the complementarity of the two crops. The agenda of the fair will also include a conference on seed multiplication.
September: Outdoor Event in Poland. Annual Event at Europe’s Largest Open-air Ag Fair
From September 18 to 20, Agro Show will hold its twenty-sixth edition, on 120 hectares, in Bedbary, Poland. No fewer than 700 exhibitors and 76 000 visitors will be expected to this major annual event, which showcases the latest technical innovations in the field of agricultural machinery and equipment. PZPK will also have a stand there, with corn and sorghum taking center stage.
In addition to the events organized under the European promotion program, sorghum is a regular topic in the news. This will be the case on May 13, in Venice, where Monia Caramma, researcher in sustainable food will make a presentation during the Food Revolution conference
